It is tradition in my family to have a red plane at the top of the Christmas tree. This started with the little plastic plane that my cousin Brandon placed on top of my parents tree in 1975. It was their first Christmas together. Every year since, that plane has been at the top of the tree. Nothing is ever hung higher.
Brandon passed away from Cystic Fibrosis in the early 80's, he was 8 years old.
